Consultations
Seeking support may feel daunting. We aim to be empathetic and support you with your Perimenopause and Menopause journey.
We can arrange a video appointment in the comfort of your own home or a face-to-face appointment by arrangement as per your preferred requirement.
Once you make an appointment, we will send you a medical questionnaire along with a symptoms checker prior to your appointment, to ensure we have all the relevant information to understand your health and symptoms so we can support you.
Initial Consultation
We aim to welcome you to Llyn Menopause clinic in a relaxed and friendly non-judgmental environment. We allow up to an hour so you feel listened to. This is totally confidential and your records will be sorted via a secure database.
We take a detailed history, look at your Menopause Symptoms Questionnaire, Symptom Checker, and discuss this with you. We will look at all aspects of your current and previous health and look at any medication you may be taking. We take an individualised holistic approach to help you.
We will provide you with evidenced based information, and work within the NICE and British Menopause Society guidance. Based on your symptoms a treatment plan will be recommended should you wish to try HRT or think about it. Body identical HRT will be discussed and Testosterone therapy if required. If you do not wish to try HRT, we can discuss alternate treatment options and lifestyle approaches to help your menopause journey.

Prescription:
Should you wish to try hormone replacement therapy, a private prescription will be generated on the day of your appointment and sent to an on-line pharmacy. Once you pay the pharmacy for the products, your medication will be dispatched to your home address.
Treatment Plan:
Your clinic letter will be sent out to you within a week. This will include your detailed step by step personalised individualised treatment plan and further supporting literature. We would advise that a copy of your clinic letter is sent to your GP so that they are aware of any new medication you may be taking. This information will be shared via a secure online correspondence, with your consent.

Menopause Support Consultation:
This is for those already on HRT but still experiencing symptoms. This is a 30 minute consultation with a menopause specialist for expert advice. A clinic letter will be generated detailing your treatment plan. We advise a copy of your clinic letter is sent to your GP so that they are aware of any new medication you may be taking. This information will be shared via a secure online correspondence, with your consent. If you feel you would like more time please make a one hour new patient appointment.
Follow up consultation at 3 months:
This is a good time to discuss how you’re feeling and address any symptoms in relation to your menopause journey. Your treatment plan can then be adjusted if needed along with ensuring a holistic approach to your perimenopause or menopause. Once again, we would advise that a copy of your clinic letter is sent to your GP so that they are aware of any adjustments made to your medication. This information will be shared via a secure online correspondence, with your consent.
Follow up consultation 6-12 months:
Once established on your treatment plan it is advised that you have at least an annual follow up. Hormone levels can change during phases of your life and treatments may then need adjusting. This is a good time to discuss any changes to your general health. You are welcome to make a sooner appointment than planned as we are here to support you.
Telephone check-in Call
This is a 10 minute appointment to answer questions and queries if needed between your formal consultation. This is for existing patients at Llyn Menopause who have already been seen as a new patient and follow up within 12 months. If you need longer we can offer you an earlier follow up appointment date.
