Blood Tests

Blood Tests
After the age of 45, blood tests are not required to diagnose perimenopause or menopause. Diagnosis is based on symptoms and clinical history.
A blood test is advised to confirm premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) under the age of 40.
Other blood tests may occasionally be recommended to exclude or assess alternative causes of symptoms, where clinically appropriate.
These recommendations can be explored further and tailored to your symptoms during your consultation.
How to book a blood test:
We can arrange a blood test locally, or you may choose to book with Nationwide Pathology who provide access to over 150 phlebotomy clinics and practitioners throughout the UK.
If you wish to book with Nationwide Pathology, once we have requested the blood test, please call 01858 571322 to arrange a paid appointment with one of their phlebotomists.
